Put A Park Bond on the November 2016 Ballot

Assembly Bill 2444 by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) will give California voters the opportunity to approve the issuance of bonds in the amount of $2,985,000,000 pursuant to the State General Obligation Bond Law to finance a parks, water, climate, and coastal protection.
It has been 14 years since voters approved the last legislatively park bond. With a current deferred maintenance backlog estimated at over $1.3 billion California needs to reinvest in our state’s natural infrastructure- including our state park system.
Assembly Bill 2444 allocates $325 million to the Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR) for restoration and preservation of existing state park facilities and units; at least 80% of the amount allocated will be used for capital improvements to address DPR’s deferred maintenance backlog.
Please use the California State Parks Foundation action center to send a message to your Assemblymember urging them to vote YES on AB 2444.
